The Fence

THE FACULTY MEETING depicts a faculty discussion involving an important topic (a faculty search) and how gender dynamics and faculty rank influence the conversation and affect the participants. The sketch was commissioned by the NSF-ADVANCE Program, which is dedicated to improving the campus environment for faculty in the areas of recruitment, retention, climate, and leadership.

The sketch has traveled nationally including the University of New Hampshire, Miami International, UCLA, and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Some conference performances have included the Association of American Medical Colleges and the National Science Foundation ADVANCE PI Meeting in Washington, DC.
